ONE more day until Reconstructing Reality – get exciTED!

Here’s what to expect of the event: from registration, to food, to the talks themselves.

The day will begin with check-in, which will be held at the Ohio Union on College Road. Upon entering the building, you’ll notice TEDx members carrying large, red lollipops and directing you to the reception. Once you check-in, you can mingle throughout the Archie Griffin Grand Ballroom East. The ballroom, filled with a variety of refreshments and food, provides a great space where you can talk with other attendees and establish connections with others. Take advantage of hundreds of connections and build new friendships before the event even begins!

From the ballroom, the event will move to Mershon Auditorium where the talks and performances will take place. Have your tickets ready as you approach Mershon in order to speed through the ticketing check process. The main event will start promptly at 1:00 PM.

The talks and performances will be given in three sessions. Our theme, Reconstructing Reality, will be interpreted by OSU students, professors, and alumni. Reality is an idea heavily influenced by personal perception. The talks given at this year’s event represent a wide diversity of viewpoints on reality. How each speaker and performer then reconstructs his/her reality will differ as well. The speakers range from undergrad and graduate students to the Dean and Ruth Stanton Chair of the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine. While the talks all relate to the idea of reconstructing reality, they will share ideas that include astrophysics, dance, the rebuilding of societies, social activism, and design.

The schedule is as follows:

There will be intermissions between sessions, and during these breaks you will have the opportunity to interact with booths set up in the Mershon Lobby – including Operation Smile Club, KIND, Crimson Cup and more! There will also be music provided by 5 of 5, a classical crossover ensemble playing the most popular tunes of the last 40 years. In addition to informational booths, there will be an art exhibit and Lego display for you to roam through. Don’t forget to engage TEDx members in conversations too! Be sure to check out all that our Ohio State community has to offer.

We hope you leave our event feeling inspired by ideas from speakers, performers, and the attendees you meet throughout the day. Take the time to discuss ideas with others and think of people you may know who would give a great TED talk… maybe even you! TEDxOhioStateUniversity is overjoyed to share Reconstructing Reality with the OSU community tomorrow!

If you were unable to buy tickets before the event’s selling out, join us for a livestream of the event, starting promptly at 1:00 PM right here on our website, tedx.osu.edu. You won’t want to pass up the chance to hear what fellow Buckeyes are reconstructing!
